The client came to us with a layout in mind which we adapted to work within the space, both at initial design stage and then during building works.
They really liked the Ikono door (which we have displayed) and we eventually worked all three colours into the kitchen and utility. The kitchen is in the Keraton (lightest tone) for the tall and base units and the island is in the Carboton (darkest tone), both tones work nicely with the worktop choice (supplied by clients) and carefully considered with the flooring.
We then added a contrasting element to the textured Ikono doors with wall units in the Sirius door programme which is a high gloss lacquer. A further reflective element was used in the glass splashback in French Grey. These finishes along with the polished worktops meant a lot of the natural light from the windows reflected back into the room.
The loved the idea of social cooking on the island looking out into the room and having a breakfast bar to perch. We opted for the down draft extractor with the gas hob rather than an island hood obstructing the view.
All appliances were Siemens except for clients own American Fridge which we adapted the surrounding storage housing for and their freestanding dishwasher.
